Principal / Partner
Dr. Victoria Marwa Heilman holds a Doctorate degree in Architecture from the University of Stuttgart in Germany, a Master degree in Architecture from the Catholic University of America (CUA), Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Victoria is a registered practicing architect in Tanzania and she is a member of the Architects Association of Tanzania (AAT). Victoria is a strong advocate of Sustainable Design and Construction and this can be seen in her teaching, research and designs. She is also a board member of the Tanzania Green Building Council (TZGBC). In addition to her professional activities at VK Green Architects Ltd, Victoria is passionate about helping communities in need through her knowledge and expertise in architecture. In 2011 she co – foundered an NGO known as Tanzania Women Architects for Humanity (TAWAH) and she serves as the chairperson. She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity Tanzania for a number of projects in rural Tanzania as a coordinator and a construction supervisor. Victoria was an Eisenhower Fellow in 2016 and used her fellowship in the USA to learn different ways to expand VK Green architects LTD work promoting sustainable design and construction and TAWAH’s work building decent shelters for marginalized communities in Tanzania.


Assistant Architect/Partner
Eric Mngumi graduated with a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Rostov-on-Don State Institute of Architecture, Russia, in 1997. He had
previously obtained his Bachelor of Architecture from the same school. Subsequently, Eric worked as an assistant lecturer at Ardhi University for 11 years and he is currently teaching at the University of Dar es Salaam in the department of Architecture. Among other subjects, his teaching interests included ‘History of 20th Century Architecture’, and ‘CAD as a Tool for Analysis and Design’. He was keenly involved in a research project on Documentation of Architectural Heritage Kilwa Kisiwani in Tanzania. Eric advocates for an organic approach to design where the architect carefully integrates material choices, structural considerations, purpose of the design and the site context. He believes that is what makes a design green and sustainable.


Assistant Architect/ Partner
Fadhili Mhawila holds a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is an assistant architect at VK Green architects. He had previously worked with Th e National Housing Corporation as an intern. Fadhili is a strong advocate of the international modernism. He also worked with Group consult Ltd, an engineering Firm in Botswana as the project architect for the construction of a 3 star Hotel. His approach towards architectural design combines both modern and cutting age designs with green design concepts.


Assistant Architect
Franklin is a recent graduate of Bachelors of Architecture at the Ardhi University, 2014.
He has been working at the firm as an intern and is interested and well-versed with
various types of CAD software especially as regards to architectural visualisation. He is
also tasked with the IT and computer maintenance of the firm and keeping it up-todate.
He brings to the firm the different ideas he has learnt through his school and various
work around the region.


Assistant Architect
Gabriel Kidunda’s architectural carrier spans over 4 years, inspired by a strong sensitivity to the environment, building aesthetics, and proper project management, coupled with personal values of integrity and resourcefulness. He has assembled a diverse portfolio of projects including custom home designs, landscape and garden designs, interior and furniture designs, commercial buildings, hotels, public centers, schools and hospitals in addition to research and community based project all over Tanzania and Zanzibar. A current pursuant of masters degree in architecture at Ardhi university, Gabriel believes in the role of research in design, in relation to interactions between architecture and the climate.


Architectural Technician
Trained as a CAD technician at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, DIT, in 2005,
she has an experience of many years working with different companies in the construction industry especially as regards to production of drawings with CAD.
She also handles some administrative duties in the firm.
